Minori's afterhours write up 4/30/10

Gladiator, the rematch:
Players: Awe/Pyro/wing nut
Winner: Awe!

Early match Each player builds up for a while until Awe comes down with a massive play in Walk the Aweons + Twincast, attacking Pyro and his elves with no mercy. After several turns of harassment from Awe, and wing nut not doing much of anything, Pyro builds a huge army of saprolings, elves, and a wellwisher. Things looked good until Awe did more time walk shinanigans to seal Pyro's fate. Wing nut was forced to stare down Awe's 3/4 fliers with his own 1/1. Awe drops an Adjudicator, but was naturalized. When wing nut windstorms to stay in the game, Awe counters, takes some extra turns with luminarch going online, and that was all she wrote.

Afterhours match 2: Gladiator
Players: Awe/Pyro/wing nut/Jetdoc/wishuwereme
Winner: Wing nut!

People were bashing each other with sticks (saprolings) for a while. Jetdoc was molesting awe's avatar, also. Skirmishes were about, keeping Wing nut from doing much of anything as well as withuwerehere from doing too much outside of land. Armies beuilt up until Pyro made the first push into Jet's base. Jet survives, and counter attacks back, dropping pyro to 3 with a bunch of saprolings and fungi who sacrifice saprolings for +1/+1 gains. Awe cleans up with lightning angel. Pyro out.

Jet seizes the opportunity where Awe had only a few allies afterwards and made another push to awe's dome. With well-placed saproling sacrifices, the mighty awe falls. During this time, wing nut acquires a huge army from flurry of wings (on Jet's attack).

Wishuwereme took the chance to pump shepherd of rots onto the battlefield, like a zombie diva (except not a diva!). Wing nut tramples over Jet at this time, leaving only zombies to face a bunch of birds, rhinos, shamblers, etc. Wishuwereme took the chance to drain Nut's life, but could only get him to 10. Wing nut steamrolls wishuwereme despite being at 38 life.

Excellent game. Lots of swings, with an unlikely winner after wingnut got down to just a handful of life. This is how multiplayer should be.
